Dubbed as the man with the ‘Rolls-Royce Voice’, this 6’7’’ deep voiced Divo’s rich, velvety vocals are enthralling audiences worldwide. Anthony is a colossal crooner who’s turning ladies’ knees to jelly with his celebrated dulcet tones. For those women who swoon at the sight of the colossal singer dabbing his brow with a beach-towel-sized handkerchief, it’s the voice. But it turns out its not love, but we’ll leave the ‘science bit’ for another time!

MORE ABOUT ANTHONY

Complimenting any resident productions ensembles or performing hosts, Anthony’s distinct vocal virtuosity and vivacious personality continues to make him a firm favourite with high end cruise lines. Adding to this is his accessibility to international audiences. With this in mind he was specifically invited to perform to nearly 30 different nations and simultaneously seen by over 80 million viewers on BBC World News on the recent Titanic 100th Memorial Cruise.

Anthony’s background in the legitimate theatre including London’s West End and international opera, adds a sense of drama to his performance, which transcends that which is merely vocal. The spellbinding manner of his presentation added to an eclectic mix of uplifting ‘Soft Rock’ Anthems, Movie Themes, Opera and Musical Theatre truly captivates his audience.

After graduated in Hospitality Management in his home city of Cardiff, Wales, the bass clef chef swapped ‘a la carte’ for ‘a cappella’ gaining a place at the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and this combined background, along with his presence and approachability makes Anthony a PR consultant’s dream, and proves to be an invaluable asset, where ‘pressing the flesh’ and buoying the brand are par for the course. His magnanimous and amenable manner along with his exuberant performances, often prompt guests to state that he has ’made their cruise’, an enrichment and enhancement entertainer if ever there were one!

Perfect for prestigious presentations and corporate events, Anthony’s appearances include: a Royal Command Performance for His Majesty The Sultan of Oman, The Welsh Assembly Government’s ‘Wales@Wafi’ in Dubai for His Highness Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum, ‘Visit Wales’s’ events at Ottawa’s Chateau Laurier & National Gallery of Canada and Cardiff Bay Development Corporation’s ‘The Emerging Vision’ in the presence of the late Diana Princess of Wales.

… and Music Theatre vocalist Anthony Stuart Lloyd who sang a couple of numbers including one song from Fiddler On The Roof. It was a fabulous show offering high quality entertainment for all of us to enjoy. The showroom was full as almost all the passengers on-board the ship attended.

Entertainment was a very mixed bag, you cannot please everyone, of those we saw Goronwy Thom and Anthony Stuart Lloyd were outstanding ,the later did a classical concert with Helen Leek, piano and Claire Overbury, flute it was brilliant.

This was my first ever cruise and didn’t know what to expect with the entertainment but I thought there was a really good variety of entertainment, all over the ship. I watched a couple of shows in the Royal Court Theatre (Anthony Stuart Lloyd – what a nice guy, Suzanne Godfrey, the Royal Court Singers and Dancers) and wasn’t disappointed. I certainly didn’t think the shows to be ‘high brow’.

Very varied shows to suit all tastes. Most enjoyable was Anthony Stuart Lloyd who was a very large singer from Wales who had two shows.

The “Rolls-Royce Voice of Music Theater Sensation Anthony Stuart Lloyd”.  Anthony is a BIG chap.  I couldn’t help but seeing him in the role of Max Bialystock from The Producers with Leo Bloom yelling “please don’t sit on me”.  Anthony has a fantastic voice and an outstanding stage presence.  He did a wide variety of songs and was another thoroughly enjoyable act.  I had the opportunity to speak with him on debarkation day and he was extremely nice and personable.

The farewell show featuring Brett Sherwood and Anthony Stuart Lloyd.  Once again Cunard gives us two for the price of none.  This was another enjoyable evening.  The only problem that I have with this kind of combo is that each performance is shortened, leaving you wanting for more.

Sharon D’Aoust (Canada)

I had promised I would send you the pictures that we took of you and I on the Queen Mary 2.  They really are great pictures.

I hope you are having a great time traveling and singing your heart out (and what a wonderful voice you have).  It was a pleasure meeting you and I sincerely wish you all the best.  If you are ever in Ottawa, Canada, please feel free to e-mail me and I can show you around Ottawa as it is a beautiful city. Take care and thank you again for the pictures.

Back to the events of the evening…..After dinner we again went to the Royal Court theatre. This time we watched international opera tenor (bass-baritone) Anthony Stuart Lloyd from Wales. In spite of how the program was printed, Mr. Lloyd sang a medley of songs from Broadway shows and a bit of opera. He included songs from The South Pacific, Porgy and Bess, The Sound of Music, The Fiddler on the Roof, and Old Man River. The show was very, very good.

The depth, breath, and power of Anthony Stuart Lloyd’s voice is truly remarkable.  There is a richness and timbre that is missing in the plethora of tenors that have flooded entertainment venues of late.  But adding a valuable dimension to the presence of his entrancing vocal strength is his ability to capture an audience.  His background in the legitimate theatre adds a sense of drama to his performance which transcends that which is merely vocal.   The spellbinding manner of his presentation truly captivates his audience and transports them to Broadway or the West End, a Welsh church choir performance, or a night at the opera.  He weaves his magic by the sheer power and warmth of his personality.  A night with Anthony Stuart Lloyd is to be remembered.

Sheila & Neil Purdy (U.S.A)

Anthony, we really enjoyed seeing you aboard the Amsterdam this autumn in Japan and do hope your appearance (all too short) will bring you lots of contracts with Holland America. We now know that Bruce Allen Scudder the Cruise director is also the overall entertainment man for all of Holland America. We told him how wonderful you are and what fun as a participant in ships activities as you were in the Saga proms etc.  Keep us informed if we can help you secure more contracts and please do call and come see us if you are ever in the San Diego area. We are not planning to cruise for a while until the economy improves but look forward to seeing you anytime and we enjoy your CD. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

‘Anthony Stuart Lloyd was a pleasant surprise, he has a lovely voice. His choice of music suited this cruise. I sat in the back in case I wanted to leave, but stayed through the encore. I gave him a standing ovation! Please tell him.’

Also a guy to watch out for. Just sensational Anthony Stuart Lloyd. Baritone, Show tunes. A giant of a man, wonderful stage presence, warm Welsh pleasing personality, and what a voice. Would like to see him and Izzy together! He and I walked into Venice for lunch last Saturday. Me with my 5′ 6″ and him 6′ 9″+ we must have looked like the Two Ronnies! I watch all the theatre shows. That is my thing, and this guy is just brilliant with an audience.

So last night we watched the very talented Anthony Stuart Lloyd and my my my, what a voice!

Captain Kees Spekman, SAGA Ruby

“Our evening entertainment saw the big-man with a big-voice, Mr Anthony Stuart Lloyd, star of stage, screen and one of Wales’ most distinguished singers performing songs from Les Misérables, My Fair Lady and Porgy & Bess. His performances are always popular with our guests, and tonight was no exception – especially the memorable encore “If I Were A Rich Man” from Fiddler On The Roof. I’m sure that all of our guests retired with sore hands after clapping so much!”

Back on board, the magisterial opera singer, Anthony Stuart Lloyd – all 6ft 6in of him – stood on the veranda deck, where we joined him in singing Jerusalem as we sailed into the sunset. Very stirring.

In addition we had the wonderful singing voice of Anthony Stuart Lloyd.

Captain Frank Allica, MV Spirit of Adventure

The highlight was undoubtedly the second show performed by Anthony Stuart Lloyd. He really does have a stunning voice, and a wonderful personality and stage presence to match. He was joined onstage towards the end by Neil on the piano. The two them then performed a wonderful alternate take on traditional Welsh songs which was written by Gerald Wiley, better known as Ronnie Barker. A splendid way to round off our last sea day.

Captain Frank Allica, MV Spirit of Adventure

The show tonight featured the Rolls-Royce Voice of International Music Theatre Vocalist Anthony Stuart Lloyd accompanied by the Spirit Quartet. An excellent show, with many passengers already asking when the second one will take place.

The Braemar Show Company performed most nights to a varied routine. The dancers were very good but the singing was just adequate. However, we were treated to two outstanding musicians. Anthony Stuart Lloyd, a Welsh bass baritone and Andrew Skrimshire, a cellist, were exceptionally talented and proved very popular.

Anthony Stuart Lloyd was a brilliant singer – and a lovely person.
